A Melting Pot of Dancers
There is no question that b-boying brings different cultures, ethnicities, or idealogies together in one circle. In the past, I have met so many diverse group of backgrounds: Chinese, Korean, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Scottish, etc. We share a similar bond in dance. Especially with b-boying, all the cultural differences are put aside for us to share in this common circle. On youtube, you can continually see how far b-boying intermingles the races, cultures, and genders together. From Brazil to Korea, there is a true commonality that is felt. Its as if everyone ponders the same thing:
"We are not Asian, European, African, Australian, South American, or North.
Our culture is Hip Hop made up of artists, dancers, creators and orators.
We are not Catholic or Buddhist, Protestant or Muslim, Hindu or Atheist.
Our spirituality is in our dance. Our spirituality is when we learn the hidden mysteries of our history and self.
We are not black skin, white skin, brown skin, yellow or green.
Our retinas do not see color for we are too busy watching our dance.
We are not fat, tall, skinny or short.
We are ideally shaped. We are more mentally prepared than to be constrained by our physicality.
We are not Democrat, Republican. Neither conservative or liberal.
We are The People. Our politics remain rebellious because our messages are pure."
