A Pile of Mulch & A Laptop
Our Father, who art in heaven, answers prayers. I have been meaning to write this blog article for many weeks now about how God has blessed me these past few weeks.
The first blessing worth noting happened in April. I had posted a short summary on my Facebook page about how God blessed me. It was the beginning of spring, I was fixing up my yard. I remember thanking Jesus just to be able to work outside, to fix my yard with the proper tools, and to have such beautiful weather. I just remember being thankful! At the end of showing my gratitude, I continued to pray: 'Jesus if you could, I would love to have the means to get mulch.' My wife and I wanted to get mulch but it just wasn't in the budget especially during the Co-Vid Pandemic.
Fast forward, a week later after having that conversation with Jesus, a neighbor asked if I wanted free mulch to use in my yard. He was giving away about 3 yards which was exactly what I needed for my front yard! He even offered to transfer it to my driveway because he had just bought a new mower with a small bed in the back.
Mulch given by my neighbor
Free mulch, seriously?!? The right amount I needed and prayed for?!? I knew right away, GOD ANSWERED MY PRAYERS! Free mulch from a neighbor whom I have never met. I was thankful for the blessing and it humbles you when He does. I remember feeling an unworthiness to receive such a blessing. But He gives graciously.
That was such a beautiful moment. His blessings did continue...
My second blessing from God worth noting began last week. I was using my dad's old laptop to write my blog page. He passed in 2017 and I was able to get his laptop from his old residence. His laptop holds its nostalgic value but it was a bit outdated. Immediately, upon using it, I had to download the new Chrome. I still pressed on using it and remained thankful.
I continued the prayer: 'Jesus, could you give me a newer laptop? That would be great! No rush of course as I'm still pumped about getting my dad's laptop for use.' In my head, I'm thinking, 4-5 years, I can possibly have the money saved up for a new laptop. Somehow, deep down, I knew Jesus is listening and with confidence, He would provide.
Well, one week passed and I'm with a friend of mine. She is 79 years old. A client of mine in which we have become close friends over the months. During our session, she says, "do you have a friend who can look at laptops?" I begin to assume that she needs a person to fix her laptop. I reply, "I know somebody but let me find out if he can fix your computer first before I get it from you." She says pleasantly with a smile, "No. I'm giving it to you. You can have the laptop."
At that moment, I'm speechless.
Her laptop has only been used once or twice. She then says she bought it on a whim but she is unable to use it because of her involuntary shakes in her hands. As she sat on her recliner last week, she was thinking of who she can give the laptop to. Of course, the offer was incredible but I couldn't just take her computer. I recommended giving it to her family members but she said, they have all that they need. She even said if I didn't take it she would either throw it away or she will find a way to put it in my car! Her insistence was persistent. I conceded but I also had to tell her about my prayer last week. How the prayer lined up with her giving. She said, "it makes the giving away to you even better." We both were in the presence of the Lord.
HP Laptop. Stickers were still on.
Jesus Christ answers prayers. We must surrender our prayers to Him and He will fulfill it if it is His will. That's important to understand. If it is His will. He is the creator and so He creates. We are here to be immersed in His creation. The more grateful we are, the more He wants to bless us with His creation. These were two examples of how He is moving in my life but of course, there are so many other situations to even count or mention.
We also must be reminded that God will use people in different situations to bless you and I. In the first example of the mulch, He used a neighbor whom I didn't personally know but we quickly became acquainted by God providing the way. And the second example with the laptop, He used a client friend whom I have known for many months on a weekly basis. His blessing will always come in a way we will not understand, in a way that's unexpected, in a way that proves He is the creator.
If we can open up our hearts to His will, we can be aware of His ever-giving and blessings. However, we must also always keep in mind that God gave us the greatest blessing and gift of them all....his son Jesus Christ...our way to be one with the Almighty God. These blog posts about God's blessings are always a great daily reminder that even when it doesn't feel like God is present, He is. He is the "I am" and He is always listening, blessing you and me, loving us, and forgiving us. The enemy tries to move in with doubt and emptiness. But ask honestly for Jesus to be our fulfillment and to remove any doubt. Remember., He reveals Himself to you through the many answered prayers. Our job is to always remember his countless blessings.
Especially during these times of unrest and chaos with the murder of George Floyd, we must as Christians pray for peace and right resolve. Think about it. If He can answer my prayers by providing free mulch and a free laptop, He can definitely bring comfort, rest, and resolve to any worldly situation. He is the creator!
-Prayer is the answer because He answers prayer.
May Jesus demonstrate His love and His spirit with you each every minute, hour, and day.
As I close out, I type this joyfully on the new laptop...
Amen.
